Amina Sefu is summoned to a closed room at work and handed a suspension notice based on a complaint signed by her mother and younger brother. They claim she stole money left by their late father. Amina has spent years building her reputation by checking other people’s accounts, so the accusation threatens both her salary and her identity. When a records clerk gives her the complete attachment, she discovers that the complaint omitted the page naming the money as a reserve for a family water project and requiring two-person approval. To clear her name, Amina must cross the boundary between workplace evidence and family loyalty: trace the money, inspect the land, learn why her mother signed, and force her brother to admit what he borrowed. Her final choice is not simply whether to expose them, but whether the father’s land will remain a weapon controlled by one person or become a transparent promise shared by all.
